A. MATURE FIELDS

Problems:
With mature declining reservoirs in need of production enhancement, interventions are often seen as expensive. Underperforming wells with unknown causes fail to deliver production. Capex limitation in the current global downturn environment becomes an issue. Understanding and well’s diagnostics is often overlooked resulting in poor development lacking appropriate well designs.

Solutions:
Our approach to mature field environment, includes complete field rehabilitation advisory identifying techniques that will assist in revamping ageing fields. Well interventions, well integrity, recompletions and stimulations. We focus on assessment of hidden hydrocarbon spots and well conformance, reshaping well completions to shut off undesired water and open new hydrocarbon bypassed zones. We provide recommendations for diagnostics in injector wells for improved sweeping efficiencies and provide solutions for integral chemical or mechanical solutions.

In addition, we provide new asset acquisition evaluation, due diligences and operation start-up support. Planning, performance and decision making for the small E&P and service companies to gain leading position, by providing strategy advice under changing external environments.

D. UNDERGROUND GAS STORAGE

Underground gas storage offers an opportunity to reduce energy supply deficit during peak times using depleted gas reservoirs that could potentially be converted into gas storage wells. Dispatchable electricity generation represents opportunities for gas storage. Energy customers need increasing flexibility and cost effective suppliers by the deliverability rate to put gas on the market at peak demand. UGS technique can reduce seasonal supply shortage making the market less volatile. Gas storage serves as a ‘just in time’ supply facility. It became strategic for countries of Europe. We bring knowledge through leading technical experts to provide the business insights required to support the decision-making process..

C. SHALE AND TIGHT ENVIRONMENT

Problems:
The global hydrocarbon production landscape is changing and as we transition to increasingly tighter, deeper and hotter reservoirs. Development of unconventional resources requires knowledge acquisition, which under cost constraints, such learning curve can be costly, lengthy and painful. Massive developments of unconventional resources are required to achieve economy of scale. Argentina’s shale gas could supply the current demand of the country for 300 years. Completion represents up to thirty percent of the overall cost, where hydraulic fracturing takes the larger portion of CapEx. Sustaining continuous innovations to produce improvements becomes critical. With the right technological capabilities, the shale industry could reach economy of scale.

Solutions:
The speed at which knowledge is captured dictates the economy of shale projects. Rock geology productivity are dependent on key factors such as geological complexity, proximity to the sweet spots, and completion techniques selection. It emphasises the need for a systematic data gathering system per play and sweet spot to capture knowledge and learning. In shale and tight rocks, well stimulation is the sole technique that can achieve economic production, combined with horizontal drilling. Achieving reservoir contact for economic production is a key aspect of the well engineering process. We specialized in completion and multistage fracturing stimulations designs to reach rock contact keeping the economy of the project. Design in terms of number and geometry of fractures. We promote multidisciplinary completion integration, including formation Core testing and analysis expertise with labs in Europe to assists designing the development strategy. Petrophysical and Geomechanic models are used to further reduced uncertainties and by using core analysis to correlate rock properties against logs. We coordinate the required iterations between disciplines necessary to achieve an optimal reservoir / well stimulation programme.
